Telesur TV (La Nueva Televisora del SUR) means The new television station of the South. A Latin American terrestrial and satellite television station of Latin America was funded by many governments (Venezuela, Ecuador, Cuba, Nicaragua, Bolivia, and Uruguay). It was established in 2005 in Caracas, Venezuela. The main aim of the Telesur television channel is to promote the integration of Latin America. Central sponsored by the company is Venezuela. The channel was described “Showing diversity in Latin America”.

On 24 January 2005, this Latin America television network converted into teleSUR. Venezuelan government approved these projects in a meeting of ministers. Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez was funded 70% for teleSUR functions and for broadcasting facilities. It started broadcasting initially only for four hours in 2005 on the 22nd birthday of Simón Bolívar (Latin America leader). Full-time broadcasting was started on 31 October 2005.
